Among the regions that stand out for the highest percentages of separate waste collection are Veneto (77.7%), Emilia-Romagna (77.1%) and Sardinia (76.3%). In the last places, however, are Lazio (55.4%), Sicily (55.2%) and Calabria (54.8%).
The situation in the big cities
Some virtuous examples:
- Bologna , first among large cities with 73% separate waste collection.
- Treviso , provincial excellence with 89.1%, followed by Mantua and Belluno.
- However, there is no shortage of other virtuous examples such as Padua, Venice and Milan.
