Vertical efficiency: optimizing space for special loads

Recently, we were approached by a client facing a common problem in many warehouses: the management of bulky structures (2x210 cm) which, due to a lack of adequate solutions, were stored vertically, leaning against a wall. This method not only occupied valuable floor space but also made picking (retrieving materials) slow, arduous, and potentially risky for operators. The Challenge: Transforming Disorder into a Logistics System The objective was clear: to transition from a "makeshift" storage system to a technically advanced industrial shelving solution, capable of accommodating bulky loads while ensuring safety and operational speed. Our Solution: Double Row and Grid Shelving The Mayermoover technical team designed and installed a customized solution, focusing on two pillars: Double-row configuration: We optimized the arrangement of modules to maximize storage density, transforming the area into a structured and organized warehouse. Grid shelf infill: This was the technical key to the project. By using metal grid shelves, we created a solid, stable, and highly breathable base, ideal for accommodating the 2x210 cm structures. This system allows for secure support across the entire surface, eliminating the stability issues typical of the previous wall storage. The Results: More Space, Less Picking Time The transition to vertical management has radically changed our client's operational routine: Floor space recovery: The area previously occupied by the "leaning" structures was freed up, making the warehouse more fluid and traversable. Reduced picking times: With the shelving, every item is now accessible, identifiable, and retrievable in just a few moments. Vertical management allowed for logical organization of materials, drastically reducing the time spent searching for components. Safety and Protection: The structures, now properly housed on certified industrial shelving, are protected from accidental impacts and no longer put stress on the perimeter walls.
