No. The ground blanket uses a bimetal thermostat fixed at 70 °C. The cable jackets in the range instead use a 0–90 °C digital controller connected to the PT100 sensor. The blanket’s 70 °C does not indicate the temperature reached below the soil surface: heat transfer depends on surface and ground conditions.

The stated indicative figure is up to 30 cm in 24 hours under normal conditions, with depths of up to 60 cm possible in sandier soils. This performance is not guaranteed for every site: soil composition, initial temperature and ambient conditions affect the result. The blanket must be laid with its heating face towards the surface to be treated, in accordance with the operating instructions.

The length must match the section to be treated, and the fit around the cable diameter must also be checked. The three versions are 625 mm wide and have power ratings of 750, 1253 and 1500 W respectively. The PT100 sensor supplies the measurement to the controller, but cycle temperature and duration must comply with the cable or joint specifications: the thermostat’s maximum limit is not a universal treatment temperature.
