Checking goods upon unloading
CHECKING GOODS UPON UNLOADING: SIGNING WITH RESERVATION IS YOUR RIGHT!
Receiving a package safely is your right. The courier cannot prevent you from checking the integrity of the shipment before signing for delivery.
Goods ordered online go through various stages of transport and may suffer damage, both visible and hidden.

Here's what to do in any case:
1. DAMAGED PACKAGE: WHAT TO DO?
A. Visible damage
- If the package shows obvious signs of damage (tears, obvious crushing), we recommend that you refuse delivery .
- The courier will note the refusal on the delivery note and the package will be returned to the sender. We will take care of obtaining the refund and sending you a new product at no additional cost.
B. Suspicious but non-compromising damage
- If the packaging is damaged but the product inside appears intact, accept the delivery by signing with reservation .
- Always indicate the specific reason next to the signature (e.g. "with reservation due to crushed packaging" , "with reservation due to open packaging" ).
- A generic reservation without justification has no legal value .
- If you subsequently discover damage, we will be able to recover the damage from the courier thanks to your signature with specific reservation.
Without specific reservation, the package is accepted and any damages cannot be refunded .
2. WHAT TO DO IF THE COURIER REFUSES TO LET ME SIGN WITH RESERVATIONS?
Some couriers may not cooperate and try to prevent you from signing with reservation. Remember that signing with reservation is your right .
If the courier does not allow you to do so:
- Insist firmly and ask explicitly where you can indicate the reserve.
- If the courier refuses, do not sign for the delivery . In this case, the package will be returned to the relevant branch.
- Contact our customer service to report the incident and receive immediate assistance.
3. INTACT PACKAGE: BEWARE OF HIDDEN DAMAGES
Even if the package appears intact on the outside, there may be internal damage to the product. For this reason:
- Open and check the contents carefully before using.
- If you find any hidden damage, contact customer service immediately.
4. IS THE PACKAGE SEALED WITH COURIER TAPE? DON'T TRUST IT!
If the package was sealed with courier tape, it may have been tampered with. In this case:
- Always sign with specific reservation indicating "due to the presence of adhesive tape on courier XYZ" .
- Even if the tape was applied in good faith to repair minor damage, the package is no longer intact and must be disputed .
SIGN WITH SPECIFIC RESERVATION OF CONTROL, ALWAYS!
To protect yourself from any damage and obtain compensation in case of problems, sign with specific reservation whenever you have doubts about the condition of the package .

How to choose the perfect industrial container: a practical case study for mixed material storage
When a purchasing department contacts us to define a supply, the main challenge is not simply to "sell a product," but to identify with surgical precision the technical solution that guarantees efficiency, safety, and durability over time. Let's analyze a typical request we receive daily on our platform and see how our technical team transformed it into a concrete solution. The client's request: specifications and constraints From a client's industrial sector, the following procurement need emerged: Quantity: containers for storing mixed non-hazardous materials and waste. Dimensions: Standard Europallet base (approx. 1200x800 mm), height 650/800 mm. Capacity: Approximately 400 kg per crate. Handling and logistics: Compatibility with pallet truck or forklift (with feet or skids) and stackability requirements. Material: Comparative evaluation between heavy-duty plastic (HDPE) and metal/steel sheet. Plastic vs. Metal: which to choose for 400 kg on a Europallet base? Faced with this dilemma, Mayermoover's technical analysis focuses on the actual use in the department: Heavy-duty plastic containers (HDPE): These are the ideal choice if you are looking for an excellent lightness-to-strength ratio, easy washing, and ergonomic handling. Our HDPE models with Europallet bases easily support the required 400 kg and offer excellent stackability. Metal/steel sheet containers: These represent the definitive solution if the working environment is particularly harsh (presence of sharp parts, frequent forklift impacts, or extreme mechanical stress). Steel guarantees superior longevity under intensive use conditions. The Mayermoover offer: speed and B2B transparency For the needs of a modern purchasing department, speed is everything. For this specific request, we have prepared a targeted proposal that includes: Identification of the most suitable catalog model (verifying capacity and compatibility with standard dimensions). Calculation of optimized shipping costs for the destination. Definition of guaranteed delivery times. Are you looking for a similar solution for your company?
