Immersion heaters transfer heat directly to the liquid, without relying on heat transfer through the container walls. They are used for temperature and viscosity control in tanks and vats, with different specifications depending on the fluid and installation method.

For open tanks, a 1500 W, 230 V side-mounted heater is available, with an AISI 316L stainless steel tubular element and an integrated thermostat adjustable from 30 to 90 °C. Mounting it over the edge allows it to be inserted into the container without permanently modifying the tank.

The 1000-litre IBC heater, on the other hand, uses a 2000 W AISI 316L element, with a PT100 sensor and digital control from 0 to 90 °C. It requires the minimum liquid level specified for its operation to be maintained.

For hydraulic oil and other compatible fluids, submersible AISI 304 models are available with magnetic bottom mounting, a ceramic element, and fixed-temperature shut-off. The range includes 230 V and 24 V versions, with specific power ratings and temperature thresholds.

The choice must consider chemical compatibility, surface heat load, liquid level, and power supply. The IP protection rating and steel type do not, on their own, certify suitability for food contact or ATEX compliance.
